Today, Tess Gerritsen spoke to an excited group of fans at Waterstone’s Bookshop in the picturesque city of Lincoln.
Having arrived an hour early for Tess’ lunchtime event at Waterstone’s in Lincoln, we rather optimistically decided to tackle ‘Steep Hill’ (the road’s actual name) and catch a quick peak of the famous cathedral, and the castle that houses the Magna Carta.
Tess’ new novel, The Silent Girl, sees Rizzoli & Isles investigate the chilling murder of a young woman on a China Town rooftop, and is laced with Chinese folklore and seemingly supernatural occurrences that Tess herself grew up hearing about from her own mother and family. Tess says:
“I once asked my mom, ‘How come I never see any ghosts?’ to which she would reply: ‘Because you live in America, and it is too young a country. Give it another 2000 years and maybe then there’ll be lots of ghosts like in China.’”
Tess also talked about her TV show, Rizzoli & Isles, which airs on Alibi Channel in the UK this September.
