Keeping up with your New Year resolutions can be so hard especially if you’ve made the decision to diet. Every January I give myself a stern talking to along the lines of I solemnly swear to never eat a packet of crisps again, to bin the chocolate bars and to stop glugging wine like water. As it happens, I’ve a packet of McCoys in my bag and I’ve just wolfed down a Club for my 12 o’clock snacksies.

What’s more, when I sit down for dinner I like to know that a hearty meal is awaiting me, be it a burger, a fish pie, a salad or some soup, it needs to be filling and it needs to be full of flavour to avoid the biscuit tin taking a battering at midnight.

Luckily, we have just published Martha Stewart’s new recipe book Everyday Light. It’s the topic of conversation in the publicity room most mornings with lots of lip smacking and hungry belly rubs because ultimately, this recipe book is SO GOOD! I promise we’re not being biased, but seriously, each Martha Stewart recipe in Everyday Light is under 500 calories, the portions are generous (which is great for my food greed) and the suggested meals, of which there are MANY are mouthwatering. Test your culinary skills by making chicken cutlets with herb butter (362 calories per serving), seafood stew (272 calories per serving), bacon wrapped cod with frisee (286 calories per serving), seared steak fajitas (390 calories per serving) and hundreds more recipes that will stop you falling from the New Year diet bandwagon.

Closer magazine also chose Everyday Light as one of their ‘Hot Picks’ in this week’s issue , 12th – 18th January 2013, and gave it 4/5 stars! They said, “If sticking to your resolution to eat better isn’t going very well and you’re still cooking the same old meals every week, Martha Stewart’s new book has loads of appetizing recipes to indulge your taste buds and help you get more creative in the kitchen. They’re all 500 calories or less, low in fat, ultra-easy to make and seriously likely to make you feel as if you’re treating yourself. Perfect.”
