News Kate Atkinson’s Jackson Brodie is coming to TV

BBC Drama announced this week that bestselling author Kate Atkinson’s popular private detective, Jackson Brodie, will be on our TV screens in 2011!

Case Histories will be a six-part series adapted from Kate Atkinson’s compelling mysteries, Case Histories, One Good Turn and When Will There Be Good News? At the heart of these stories is private investigator Jackson Brodie, who will be played by Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter). A complex and compulsive detective surrounded by death, intrigue and misfortune, his own life haunted by a family tragedy, he attempts to unravel disparate case histories. The series will be filmed and set in modern Edinburgh, and is produced by Ruby Films (Small Island, The Other Boleyn Girl, Brick Lane) for BBC One.

Case Histories is the latest BBC One drama to be will be filmed and set in Scotland, and announced this week, Jay Hunt, Controller said: “Case Histories is an exciting opportunity to bring contemporary adaptation to BBC One. I am delighted we will be bringing Kate Atkinson’s books to the screen.”
