I’m thrilled to report that Simon Beckett, Mo Hayder and Ariana Franklin have reached the shortlist (of six) for this year’s CWA Dagger in the Library. This is awarded for a body of work and all three have proven time and again how good they are at filling us with fear!
And that’s not all!
Johan Theorin’s terrific crime novel THE DARKEST ROOM has been shortlisted for the International Dagger!
The winners will be announced at the Harrogate Crime festival on 23rd July.
The shortlists for the John Creasey (New Blood), Ian Fleming Steel and Gold Daggers will be announced later in the year.

Yesterday, Jo Carnegie, author of Wild Things, took to the streets to promote her MANifesto and to inject a bit of merriment into the business of voting with her very own ‘Vote Bonk’ campaign. Unsuspecting tourists and members of the public were showered (willingly, in most cases!) in double-F sized florescent pink bras and slogans such as ‘VOTE BONK’ and ‘ERECTIONS NOT ELECTIONS’
Not to be put-off by being removed from Trafalgar by some very straight-laced wardens, bonkbuster author Jo Carnegie campaigned all afternoon and left the public in no doubt that we need to vote for a ‘well hung parliament.’
