JOHNNY’S NEW KINGDOM started last night on BBC 2 to audience figures of over 2.2 million, provoking this brilliant review from Lucy Mangan in today’s Guardian:

“You have to add exclamation marks when you’re writing down what Johnny says, but the paltry resources of written punctuation cannot do justice to the beguiling blend of excitement, hope and love with which he speaks of his animals and land, any more than a mere five letters can do justice to the man’s vowel sounds.  But either way, he’s a gift to television.”

The second episode will be shown tonight at 8.30pm and in addition to that, Johnny will be appearing on Richard and Judy!
